Internet stocks trade on momentum and *accelerating* sales growth alone. Do not try to do any form of fundamental analysis on them; not one that resembles the analysis for others anyway. Quite simply the stocks I mentioned have exhabited clear signs of being in an intermediate bubble and are either about to burst, or you have already seen the top in them for a while. When momentum slows down in these stocks, it is prudent to take a defensive posture to say the least.

Since you raised the point about Barron's, let me just say that they briefly analyzed it and as much as they liked the management, they felt that the stock was about 50% overvalued even if you valued all their real estate in other internet stocks at market (i.e. you believe that yhoo, lcos, etc. are at their fair price). Which for me is a very big if. You should really read the 3 round table issues of Barron's. Not so much for their stock selections, but more to see how good professionals pick their stocks (and still manage to lose in some of them!)

Feel free to record their current prices and check them out in a month or two.

regards,
Sun Tzu
