Mitch,
Alright, alright, I can't stand it anymore....
I've read an awful lot of ideas and barking out of orders here lately. Let me weigh in...
When PMA first came out I personally delivered 2 copies to the headquarters of The Motley Fool here in Northern Virginia for evaluation. I followed up several times, but like most Internet companies they didn't seem to ever put it on their to-do list.
In addition, I contacted the right person at E*Trade and sent a copy, but haven't been able to get her to return my calls. I doubt they ever even evaluated it. I called AmeriTrade, Datek, and several other firms and it was like sitting in the nose-bleed seats and yelling in plays to the quarterback.
These players aren't looking for deals with companies that don't yet have a brand name. When an announced deal with a brand name can knock a stock price up 10% in a nano-second why should they?
BNEZ will have to earn a reputation, develop some "mo" or momentum, and then they'll move into the big leagues.
While I think it is possible for them to do this, I don't expect it will happen overnight. The best idea I've come up with is the coupon insertion idea. Get E*Trade to offer 5 Free Trades with any purchase of PMA (new accounts only). The press release, logo on the packaging, and "buzz" this would create just might work to get the engines rolling. Might not also. If its true that the packaging is going to be recreated (YEAH!!!) then this is a perfect opportunity for them to get one of the larger online brokers to do this.
I've been lurking and enjoying the fun and games, but it really sucks to see the stock where it is. I hope the BNEZ team can put something together with an online brokerage firm for everyones sake.
Good luck all.
