Well you are right. Just because there is no Reverse Split here doesn't mean that there won't be one at any time. In the example you cite 10,000 shares in a RS of 5:1 would leave him with 2,000 shares.

In the more practical case of PABN, you can be sure that a reverse will not be in the single digit to one range. You really should think more in terms of it being a 100:1 or higher if they are reaching for Nasdaq status for real. In that case, your 10,000 share example would be trimmed to an even block of 100. At that it would still leave 8 to 10M shares outstanding.
