To further complicate the situation is that most VC's are unwilling to sign confidentiality agreements. Therefore, if what you have cannot be protected you are at their mercy. VC's have numerous allies and investees which represent some form of conflict. It is a real gamble. Who can you trust when your technology is not proprietary?
