Ask yourself a question. If adding ".com" instantly doubles the value of all companies, what happens when every company eventually adds ".com"?

Does the GDP of our nation go up by 100%? Last time I checked, the only two companies with spectacular profits that were internet related are Cisco and Microsoft. That's it. Yahoo may be popular, and Amazon may have a lot of revenue, but none of them are making anywhere near the profits of even a small-to-medium "old fashioned" Dow stock.

All the sell side analysts say "the future prospects are unlimited".. Yet why has no internet company (besides cisco, who is selling the hardware to all the dreamers) actually made any cash? Would you for a moment even consider the possibility that the internet is no more of an "instant wealth creator" than the telephone was? (excluding the equity markets, I mean. Let's talk profits, not instant overnight riches by jumping on the ebay greater fool train)

cheers
