Hi Otter, Haven't sold any more since the $17s, so haven't had much to say. I've been reading the notes daily and want to thank you and Linda Kaplan. for all your stealth work on news items. Looks like we're not going to hear anything but "business news" from VLSI until they come with their announcement.

I was happy to see $19/share again briefly this AM. I've been trying to keep my best Poker face on while we play these last few hands with Mr. Philips and Mr. VLS Integration. Right now neither of them appear to be bluffing. I've not upped the ante, but haven't folded my cards yet either. It's one of the more interesting things that's happened to my portfolio in recent times. I'm absorbing as much as I can.

Linda has been a very good sport about VLSI. She mis-interpreted some of my writings back in '95 and bought VLSI as a good AIM candidate while several of us were reporting selling shares. This was just before it hit the skids from about $35/share down to about $12/share. It has been kind enough to cycle back up and down a couple more times since then which has allowed AIM and Linda to trade her account back to positive values. She's really worked hard at it. I'm happy to see her coming out in the black with it. I've cautioned people here ever since that they should buy when the AIMers are buying and now when we're selling!!! I still feel badly about her start.

Best regards, Tom
