MrG, there are quite a few threads that I don't spend much time on any more. I too felt there was quite a bit of negativity on YHOO's (not to be outdone though, by the negativity on AMZNs thread), primarily from the bears of the thread. And what I finally realized was that they were in their own little world, and that I needed broader insights.... so in these cases I felt I had to tune them out and listen to what the analysts were recommending. The bottom line was that if enough people were buying these companies, somebody believed in their future besides me. I sit here sorta irritated with myself for having missed out on Amazon's IPO and early after market because I let the bears of that thread influence me. BTW I did have some DCLK back when it was @ $12, but unfortunately I got impatient with it. (This would probably have happened with Amazon too).
