I have to agree and disagree on THE internet stock statement. It would almost be more applicable to say that wcom IS the internet. An internet stock brings about a vision of a company that does business on the internet, has never really made money and trades purely on future earnings, which may or may not happen. WCOM makes money now. They are not reliant about markets that are in development; they are reliant upon markets that exist and where they are well positioned. Also, the more people that use the internet, the better that WCOM will do. They are not reliant about one or two ideas that a company that thinks they can take business from existing companies over the internet. They make money from people accessing the internet.

Of course, AOL is considered an internet stock, and I could see them being in the same league as WCOM. Maybe not the same division, though.
