Hi Bernie, The Value Line timeliness ratings always seemed a bit "late to the party" to me as well. #1 always looks like something an Analyst is recommending just before it runs out of gas.

Agreed that Phoenix' rising look better. Something upgraded from #4 to #3 or from #3 to #2 is probably a happier hunting ground. If we get to the party a bit early, then AIM will have some fun trading it until such time as the momentum players do arrive.

As long as "momentum" strategies are still popular, then we need to look at these popular stocks. AIM'll take care of Momentum's Love/Hate relationship with the stock while we wait for long term appreciation.

I've treated the "timeliness" ratings as something of a curiosity but never tried to use it for selection. Please keep us posted on how it does. Are you using VL's CDRom version or the paper type?
