And Now 'Kiplingers' Is Suggesting GOOFS as a way to diverify? Well maybe they didn't call 'em GOOFS. The term was actually 'troubled stocks', but the point remains. Their advice is to see if the fundamentals were still good after the bad news was subtracted. You remember those things your grandfather looked at: weird stuff like debt ratios, price earnings ratios, book value? Their suggestions: ADM, Giant Cement Holding, Louisiana Pacific, Stewart & Stevenson Services. Flagstar may have fit right in, but they didn't mention it. LPX interests me enough to check it out. Regards, Paul
