<< If things are going to happen they should happen this week. Patience is still a virtue here, though.>> I have to admit, the shorts (or those who want to be longs as lower prices) do seem to come out when the stock falls. I can see where people may have become concerned due to those "other" products, however I have checked them out with an engineer (and Marshall posted on them) and they basically have nothing to do with Be There whatsoever (my guy laughed when I asked if these were threats -- he simply said maybe for someone, but we're talking apples & oranges with respect to Be There!). As for any concerns about sales, we now know that Race will be attenting a CTI show next week. Bill, as for this being the week that things should happen -- maybe yes or maybe no (although the CTI show would present a good PR opportunity), but remember that Race tends to surprise us. It seems rather obvious that they have been keeping things under wraps until the right time due to some negative experiences in the past. It really doesn't mean anything, however, one way or the other. I really cannot understand the concerns at this point. They only put Be There! on sale about 2 weeks ago at which time they began calling the trial customers about whether they wanted the system or not. Nobody has still returned the system or even indicated their intentions to do so. I would think that they would have at least indicated their intentions to return the system by now. Also, it would seem unlikely that they would just purchase a small number of systems unless they intended to install a significant number of systems. With a system such as Be There! it would seem far more likely, given the MIS deccisions of F100 companies, that either they want to install a fair number now and upgrade to all applicable employees down the road. These companies do extensive research on new products and cost/benefit analysis before they make a decision to purchase item#1. However, after you get that initial sale, even if it's relatively small, they generally will use that item more consistently throughout the corporation. On the othere hand, if they did want the system, then it does not follow that they could wrap things up immediately on one phone call. There is a strong probability that they would want more than the trial systems they had (it may have taken some time to determine how many more they wanted), what locations they wanted them installed in (again, their installation engineers are still in the field for some reason -- I don't think it's for trial users anymore), and then they would need payment to Race. I just cannot understand why anyone thinks that simply because we have not heard anything that means there are no sales. Isn't it interesting how both analysts have not changed their estimates (in fact, it seems that we got a slight increase recently). They know the story better than most and seem to still be confident in Be There! at this point. Remember, to these analysts, Data Race is one of several stocks they cover -- they do not make their living by covering it. The analyst at SCCC is well respected in the industry and is very thorough in his research and analysis (and, as far as analysts go, he writes rather well). Do you think that these analysts would risk their credibility on Data Race? If one looks to his projections and calculates Calendar 1998 revenues, he is basically projecting potential revenues north of $80 million or so. Do you think he would stand pat on those estimates if he didn't think there was enormous potential here and they could not sell any Be There! systems. They do, after all, check with potential customers (as I have done with several potentials) to see if they would buy this system. It's just simply not worry time. As for the technicals, we still have support at $13 1/8. We closed above this support (although we briefly fell below).
