Another option is partnering with a wireless firm, or agreeing to bundle the wireless firm's services with the existing wcom portfolio. Less risk, with the same relatively sub par return (for the wireless portion of the business).
Why rush into a business that will dilute earnings? Or has wireless technology already progressed to the point at which it can handle heavy data, video, and voice traffic with the same level of security as fiber, hfc, and copper? Wireless can be the ultimate bandwidth solution, but are we there already? Agree that wcom must enter wireless at some point, but not sure if the timing or the company (nextel) is right. |
