Repost: CONVERSATION WITH BEN BARKER.

Regarding the F100, Be There! is in place and there is no talk of returning it. Ben stated that the F100 has a very long sell cycle. I believe he was trying to say that it might take 1 to 2 years to fully outfit a F100 company (which could be a few thousand users to over 10000).

I asked about the response on the ads, he explained that the problem was handling all of the calls. RACE is getting a lot more calls than people can physically handle.

I asked him if they installed more betas and he explained that there is no more betas. RACE is now in the selling phase of the commercialized Be There! Ben stated that some revenues would be realized this quarter. He said that he will release names when he can release.

He confirmed what Pat said about the Minneapolis show. The VP was Ian Rankins one of the marketing VP. He would not comment on the oil company that they just outfitted since it is not RACE' s policy to comments on contracts.
(SEE: techstocks.com )

Here is how he summarized the present conditions.

RACE has enormous opportunities now and sees no reason to fail. He explained that ventures of this sort only fail if the following problems occur:

1. No market for the product. His answer to this regarding RACE a resound NO.

2. Product not working. His answer to this regarding RACE a resound NO.

3. Scaling and manufacturing capabilities problems. His answer to this regarding RACE a resound NO

4. Marketing and sales. He explained that this is the only component that RACE has left. He believes that his team is more than qualified to meet this challenge.

I made a comment about Curt and his abilities to capture a market share. Ben had nothing but praises for him.

He said that they are presently pursuing the notebook market and the telecommuter market, that would mean even for people working just at home. Their BIGGEST push is in the development of other market applications, to continue work in what he believes is an ENORMEOUS market. Long term, with the help of more powerful computers such as the MMX chip, he sees RACE licensing their software application on a broad base. This application will work on all of these computers and will not require any hardware from RACE. Presently, Be There! requires hardware at both ends, the PBX and the remote and it functions only with RACE' s equipment. Ben sees the future icon of Be There! on every computer.

There was a lot more. I took notes and this is the best I could do for now.
More later

It's my opinion if the Company felt confident enough to relate this information that they may be ready to put out some "official" press. The above is not all of the info that was posted last night, some people (such as Steven) were able to add to it.

If one applies a little logic to all of this it becomes obvious that there is a great response to the product and that there has been product sold, it's just that the names of the customers can not be released yet.

We also see some indications of other manufacturers already wanting to license the technology. Now what do you think it would mean if NEC or IBM came out and said they were incorporating the technology in some of their product? We have already seen hints of this possibility from a past post by Larry.
