Hello Pat, We've been around the block on this one before..... I came to a conclusion..... I make it a point now to gather my adv/decl form 3 different places and randomly intersperse them. Prophet-Yahoo-WSJournal.....they are all different....they never are exactly the same...but within 25± I stopped using NYSE...they are simply WRONG. Here's why! Go to the WSJ and add up each page of NYSE stocks = 3550 to 3575 Do it also in the NYTimes.... (Better yet...have a son do it <smile>) Anyway, WSJ "Diaries" page C2 always comes in at 3550 to 3575 companies traded. Every other source is reasonably close to this number every day. Now add up the NYSE sites adv/decl/unch = 2900 to 2950 <<consistantly>> That means the NYSE has LOST ¥es LOST +600 companies that did not trade on the 7th April.... I don't think so That's why I stoped using nyse... Also they never answered my email requests for an explanation!!! These 5 days are a +171/+602/+201/+103/+882 for the 8th...so it is not very strong. At one point in Nov98 it was up to +12,000. My price and time projections are simple measured moves, nothing fancy. With the 4.5% Spoo move in one week...is there any indication how long this can continued before the back off? We're up 84± S&P points since 3/24 +6.7% To reach my target of 1363 it's a 8.2% move....that's not imposible by next week. I'm going to bed. Chip
