Most U.S. stock index futures higher, S&Ps pop up
April 9 - U.S. stock index futures erased most losses, June S&P 500 futures suddenly popped up to moderate gains, new contract high at 1,361.50. Floor brokers said the move up, which occurred after T-bond futures eroded and closed lower, seemed powered by local buying that triggered buystops above the old contract peak of 1,357 set on Thursday. Some had looked for an upside target between 1,361-1,362. They said turnover on the rise picked up only slightly. Price boards estimated June S&P volume at near 84,000 contracts.
