Misc. notes, follow remarks on the new additions. Since the last Issue, TCI
Music (TUNE), slowly has been creeping up in price, and is working on
making the 4.5 to 5 area a floor. The rising trend pattern stems from the
"Box Music Network" deal with Americast, and the DBX on-screen
guide to music, which is a first for cable (as distinguished from satellite),
plus the America Online (AOL) deal you may have known about. We think
the charges are high for cable music video (typically $2 or so), but stranger
things have happened. People will buy a CD for a soundtrack of a movie
that is cheaper than an entire DVD that holds the whole show; go figure.
We just think it's interesting as a diversification, and is another
"new-technology" slot to fill.
