Thanks for the feedback. I am glad to see that I am not totally off base with my method. You are right about setting buy and sell resistance, it just complicates things at least it does for me. As long as one updates their 5% level every so often everything should be fine. So now I am starting to narrow this thing down but you have given me three choices on how to apply the 5% rule:

1 Stock value
2 Stock value + Cash reserve
3 Portfolio control

I wonder which is best? If someone has a spreadsheet set up to check these things out that would be great.
