Tom,

INTC should take the lead when the NAZ most needs it, everything is in place. I hold shares, leaps, and LEVL calls and am mulling over some ratio writes or straight spreads against them.

Most of the earnings are out of the way for the semis and semi equipment makers. March BTB for the semi equipment makers was 1.3 and the steepness of the gradient up is increasing. Examine the earnings report of LRCX out tonight, all signs confirming of a sector recovery even for that laggard. Specialty semis near new highs, secondary semis moving, etc.

In days gone by I posted to go long on AMAT, NVLS, TER and KLAC ... now my sense is that this sector is getting ready for the next leg up again. If this is so, then INTC must necessarily breakout and I would expect by the end of the second quarter. As the market is forward looking, I am ambivalent whether INTC ratio writes or spreads are worth messing with now.
