1. Have I heard this from a reliable source? No, I have not heard this from any source I consider reliable.

2. Could it be true? Yes. But, until I hear it from a source I trust, it is just an interesting rumor.

3. Why do I think it could be true? Because the way it is structured (1 share of IT for every 4 shares of PABN I own) makes sense and because it is not a crazy sounding rumor of the type designed to hype the stock...except for one thing: it is premature to make this kind of a move. That's the "red flag" that I see in addition to the fact that it did not come from a trusted source.

Some general guidelines for handling rumors:

1. ask the source of the rumor for its source and attempt to confirm.

2. if the source won't give you its source don't believe it.

3. if the source gives you its source but you can't confirm the rumor, don't believe it.

4. if the rumor is wild, untimely, counter to everything to do know about the company and its management, don't believe it.

5. if you decide not to believe the rumor (because of the above), don't give up on trying to confirm it because it just could be true.
