While I prefer a company that doesn't comment on rumors, I have owned 2 companies this year alone that ran on buyout rumors. In both cases the CEOs stated publicly that the rumors were unfounded. That's the responsible thing to do. When someone doesn't comment, it isn't because they can't deny it - it's because they cannot confirm it.

People NEVER hesitate to deny.

To me, this "no comment" speaks volumes.
