  Bridges' April sales quadruple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  The Bridges Initiatives Inc BIT Shares issued 8,799,250 May 11 close $4.56 Tue 11 May 99 News Release Mr. Doug Manning reports Bridges.com's 10 sales staff sold 307 new site sales in April 99, as compared with 68 new sales by six sales staff in 1998. Total new site sales in 1999 have reached 812, representing $955,000 in new revenue for the year. These new site totals do not include the Ontario or Manitoba provincewide agreements from earlier this year. “We're very pleased. Bridges.com continues to make strong progress in sales growth,” says Doug Manning, chief executive officer. “April's sales increase Bridges.com's subscriber base to over 3,600 middle and secondary schools across North America. This represents 10 per cent of our target market.” Southeast Michigan Biggest U.S. Sale Ever Six Southeast Michigan counties, including Detroit's Wayne County, have purchased 225 new three year subscriptions to CX. It is Bridges.com's largest American region-wide sale. Including recent sales and resubscriptions, 303 Detroit area schools, career technology centres, and schools of choice currently have access to the CX service. Attendance Doubles at Bridges.com AGM Over 160 people attended Bridges.com's 1998 annual and special meeting on April 7, 1999, more than twice the number that attended last year's meeting. A special resolution was passed in support of an official corporate name change from The Bridges Initiatives Inc. to Bridges.com Inc. John Simmons, Ed Hall, Dave Cousins and Mr. Manning were elected as directors for 1999. New Managers Appointed Bridges.com is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Mooney as vice-president of technology. Mr. Mooney brings to Bridges.com an extensive background in company IT (information technology) infrastructure and planning. Pamela Carey has been appointed service manager and assumes responsibility for customer service and training. She has been with the company for several years and will focus on maintaining the company's 90 per cent resubscription rate. CX Plus Prototype Launched CX Plus, an upgrade of Bridges.com's on-line career development service, was released as a prototype on April 15. CX Plus features more education and labour market content than CX, along with new interface modifications that organize articles into career clusters. “It's essentially a value-added product,” says Mike Martin, vice-president of sales and marketing. “The new educational material gives our sales staff an added edge in marketing the service.” CX Plus (cdn.cxplus.bridges.com) can be purchased at a special introductory price in 1999. Bridges.com Focuses on Portfolio Bridges.com has focused product development efforts on the company's on-line Portfolio project.
