I have the mini set up on about four different charts in my workspace.
One is a simple setup and has:
ROC, A very FAST Sto, Vol, simple moving averages at 200, 50, 20, 12, and 5. This is a one minute chart. In conjunction with this I use the one minute TICK chart with a 50 period ma on it. This is what I use to trade it basically and it is set to candles.
The second has a couple of forks drawn on it (using the tools and drawing freehand) and is longer term, anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes to get a bigger picture viewpoint, also set with candles.
The third chart is either a five minute or ten minute chart with two moving averages, MACD and an envelope channel. This chart in conjunction with the NHB.X produces my system signals for position trading and is set to bar chart. Although I am not actively position trading, it is a nice system and I eventually plan on throwing some money in its direction.
The fourth is minimized, but I glance at it from time to time and is Pat's Triple-Ma-Jig setup. On my old workspace, which I have saved, but don't use much anymore I also have Pat's Red/Blue thingy set-up.
Not sure this helps you much, but I would suggest taking what you use for stocks and trying the same methods on the mini. You can set alerts for the mini, just like for stocks. Don't think you can coordinate lines with alerts, but maybe. I have not tried that. Play around with it and watch it. There are many different ways you could set it up to trade it...I suggest picking your nuttiest trading stock and whatever you use on that, try it on the mini...... |
