Well, not really like an option. There is a PREM to it as you are aware that shrinks over time, but upon expiration if you have not sold the position they mark your account to its cash value I believe. It does not simply expire worthless as options might.

I think the required margin is about $4,000 to trade one emini.

$4125 with a $3000 maintenance requirement. I would suggest starting with at least $10,000 (many houses require this anyway to open an account) to trade one emini. I would not suggest starting with the large. Get your feet wet first....and only after a successful paper trading duration.

You can trade either using the net (LFG's Leoweb, PMB's Timberhill or a couple of others) or you can phone in your orders. Either way works.
