Funny, dumb minds think alike as I had the same thought. Quickly killed it though.....makes no sense. Let's say it's Long and you cover the Short and let the Long trade ride. Well, dag, Homer! Why not just go Long at the same time as it's the same thing? Also, supposing they pull that fake I was ruminating on? So you Close one in anticipation and then they spike it the other way. Double Damn!! If you are going to entertain that you might as well just straddle or ratio backspread some Options and limit the downside. Have not checked Volatility though.
