It seems that once the game starts it lasts awhile. <<<< If I recall correctly, the surge in the small caps/micro caps lasted about 2 months from April until end MAY. Its hard to really say when it started this year but in speaking to a broker who mainly deals in small/micro caps it already started. Its not as obvious as in 1996 since so much attention is being put on the INTERNETS. Im not aware of an index that measures the microcaps well, so I will have to stick to the small cap indices like the RUT and the SPX 600. If you check their charts you will notice that they actually started rallying strongly around the 3rd week of MARCH. So it has already been about 2 months for the small caps. As for the micro-caps, I dont know. The small cap indices are also showing signs of possibly topping out. Right now these indicies are in the process of testing their previous highs. It could be forming a mini-double top implying negativity soon, or it could break up to the upside. Since the runup in the small caps have already lasted 2 months, I feel we are more towards the end of this specific rally, and some sort of pullback should be around the corner, rather than lasting alot longer. After the small caps corrected in 1996, they did not recover quickly as did the the big caps, so will that be the case this time again, once the small caps correct? seeya
