Douglas,

This weekend I updated the earnings estimates for this year and next year for a group of 40 semi equips using Zacks data posted on the internet. The information was put into a table and a sort was made on the sum of 2 year earnings. Using this technique, MASK was listed in eighth place out of the 40 stocks. The data is shown at:

Message 9688034

By using the table, however, another interesting comparison can be made by looking at the current year and next year PE ratios. Specifically, compare these PE numbers for MASK, PLAB and DPMI. The MASK numbers are 13 and 11, PLAB numbers are 40 and 21, and DPMI numbers are 42 and 25.

In order for MASK to obtain the same types of current year and next year PE ratios as PLAB and DPMI, the price of MASK would have to rise by a factor of 2 to 3 times as high as its present Friday's close.

This is not a new phenomenon, however. This disparity in magnitude in PE ratios has been consistent for at least the last year that I have been following the stock. It's not a matter of earnings consistency I don't think because MASK has the consistency of a Coca Cola compared to PLAB and DPMI. I think MASK is one of the most, if not the most, undervalued stock in the group of 40, but I have thought that for the last year. Nothing seems to "light a fire" under the stock.
