Bill & Robert & Bernie...thanks for the help...i found the what if button and that sure make things easy to check out...i first dropped safe to 5% and $ spread went from 90-48 to 84-50.4...then i cut # shares to 50 min and it went to 54 7/8 - 74 1/8 much more to my liking..then on Bernie suggestion i put safe back to 10% as Mr L. would approve and spread is still ok at 78.75 - 52.5...i understand that volatility is name of game in aim and reason i am using dh is i already own it and did not want to raise cash at a lost just to get into a better aim stock...will leave cash at 33%...does it effect calc of buy and sell like the safe and # shares do? long term trading is nothing new to me...have been a graham-dodd type since early 80's but have mainly been buy and hold with yearly update of fund. and then decision on whether to keep it or not...i like the concept of using averaging up for sells and down for buys as mean of managing long term stock and always being in a position. have read Mr L. book but there is always a learning curve when you actually start to do it...my next task is to go to a screening program ie stock investor and see if i can come with some hi beta stocks to look at in aiq as future aim candidates...again thanks for the replies and info...bj
