Yeah, well, I got this idea after I read that Gates plans to leave only a small fraction of his wealth to his children (probably only a couple billion each, poor things), and to give most of it away before he dies.

I'm re-incorporating myself into a research institute, the QwikSand Institute of Software Tolerance (or QSIST), and going for a grant from the Gates Foundation. I'm proposing a study of how many blue screens a human being can look at before measurable brain damage begins to occur. It's information that I'm sure Gates will think is valuable to the world, and it's a walk in the park to develop the data...all I have to do is edit my diary a little, you know, take out the parts where I was looking into the house next door with binoculars while the machine was rebooting, and so forth. I figure four or five million ought to cover it.

Do you think there's an IPO in here somewhere?

Regards,

It is apparent that MSFT has used its monopoly power to control and subvert other companies who do not support its OS.

Marvin, try not to get drawn into the denial fest that permeated this board when I was a regular. MSFT is not a monopoly, they are just the best. SUNW and IBM are kidding themselves. They have no alternative desktop OS products to subvert.

Happy Investing
