I would agree with the fact that the vast majority of people using eBay, ESPECIALLY sellers, are honest. Otherwise, someone would have screwed me by now in the 200 or so items I have purchased. However, I don't think that someone doing a "side" deal off of eBay is dishonest. On many occasions, I was high bidder but didn't make reserve, and negotiated with the seller to purchase the item. I wish eBay would get rid of reserve auctions altogether, and THAT would stop a lot of the side business.
