This is really good news. I think we've waited a long time for a new version update. I am not a heavy Portico user, but I hated not being able to send a message to a person in my address book. It was always a respond only function. Also, it looks like I can send a message and then forward a copy to myself for my records. Before, I would send a message and then never be able to refer to what I had said.

Yes, it has struck me as strange that we'd not seen any serious function enhancements and this announcement is all good news to me.

I think we are seeing a lot of new competition beginning to spring up. Some of them with good allies like Yahoo, or directly from companies like Nortel and Lucent.

Well, there's no reason to think these companies can win just because they are big and from all I've read Portico is still the leader in function. And, they still have Microsoft and Qualcom in their camp which is a pretty powerful team.

Lets hope the market starts to get renewed interest.

Regards,

Mark

Finally!   I've been waiting for these upgrades for ages. The inbound fax alone will save me a lot by letting me drop my JFax account.   The new greeting choices should improve user experiences greatly too.
