Non event. Microsoft doesn't discount. Try shorting something else... I assume you mean MSFT doesn't discount retail. (Anti-trust case is partially based on variable rates in wholesale discounting.) As for whether MSFT will never discount in competitive web retailing, I take to be an open question (e.g. some airlines are now offering discounted tickets from their websites). But, whatever, if folks buy direct from MSFT (even at no discount) rather than from EGGS (with discount), which company is likely to be the relative loser? FYI - I am not short EGGS.
