I am not worried either.

However, I do believe that the Internet is currently still thought of as somewhat of a luxury item among the people who do not have it yet. If the economy goes sour and people have less money to spend, they will spend the money on other things than becoming a first time Internet user.

I totally agree that the people who do already have Internet access view it as a necessity. I do. However again... paying for the privilege of being an AOL member is a luxury item and so it membership here at SI. actually SI membership is a prime example of an Internet luxury.... look at the demographics. 40% of SI members make in excess of $100,000/year.... sounds like luxury demographics to me. The places where Internet companies make their money are still Luxuries.

Maybe I am wrong, hadn't occurred to me to think about it this way until tonight. Just some thoughts for the other side.

Still long and Strong.

P.S. I don't have Cable. I do have a TV but only because the person I am subletting from left it. so these can't be too much of a necessity. ;)
