TO THREAD: Just saw the Bezos intvw on moneyline channel 10 in NY. I have never seen Bezos speak before but now that I have I think he is a joke. He demonstrated no vision whatsoever. AMZN isn't about books, music or whatver else their selling....it's about being the best and most efficent distribution channel in the world, yet, Bezos only focused on the former. He needs a much better argument than quicker shipping for leasing warehouse space. The logistics game has already been won by Walmart...been there done that... No wonder the stock is only at a $111. The best line was when the interviewer asked about selling $1 bills for .90 cents. Bezos say thats not true we have a 20% gross margin and its akin to giving away $1.20 for a $1. God...I hope he mean giving away $.80 for a dollar otherwise we are in trouble....

Glenn the interview started out with a band --huge award then praise
on the 10 mil customer.

Jim,

I admit to missing the very beginning. The 10 mil customers is not a good number since people that registered for auctions are listed in that number as customers. I like facts to be presented straight out.

t would be a con job if he did predicted great earnings but I believe he explained his
vision very well. Also knowledge is only relative to a known present situation with very
little to do with long term future .

Vision is likely not the correct word here but it is good enough.

I am changing opinions slowly. My dislike I believe is of Bezos and Covey more so than the firm, Amazon. Let's tell facts as they are. Not give hype. Both have done that. They may be executing perfectly. I do not know. They still spew hype.

Most of the people on this thread don not spew hype. CEOs and CFOs (I know Covey is no longer the CFO) should not be spewing hype.
