Brent

I got a response from EIA about the disparity in the OPEC numbers
for 2Q. The EIA number of 28.6 include 2.5 NGL while the published
OPEC numbers only give the crude numbers of approx 26.0. He told
me that his OPEC crude estimate for 2Q is 26.1 which seems like
ballpark. This means that the current supply shortfall is more
like 0.5 MMBD rather than the 3.0 MMBD I mentioned.

The supply shortfalls look like this.
--------- 1999 -------- 2000
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 1st
DEMAND 76.1 73.2 74.2 77.5 77.7
SUPPLY 74.7 72.7 73.6 75.1 75.5 ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
SHORT 1.4 .5 .6 2.4 2.2

I'am rethinking my positions and may reduce my weighting in this
sector. The business recovery could be slower than anticipated.
I do want to be back in from around Oct 1 - Apr 1 if those
MUCH larger supply shortfalls kick in then.

Best,
John
