DCF, I get your point very clearly! I fault Christendom for its bloody history and you say I'm attacking your family. I know that those shooting at them didn't include a single Witness of Jehovah!!! If all the sects of Christendom took the same stand there would have been no war! Another point I get very clearly is you hate peacemakers! Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. You take umbrage at anyone who actually lives the gospel you talk about!! Working on my house is an Iranian escapee who fought two years against Iraq. Suuni Moslem against Shiites; a bloody indictment against both religions. Christendom's savage bloodshed is an identical stench in the nostrils of God! In January 1941 the ACLU published a booklet PERSECUTION OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES: "Documents filed with the Department of Justice by attorneys for Jehovah's Witnesses and the American Civil Liberties Union showed over 335 instances of mob violence in 44 states during 1940, involving 1,488 men, women and children" Page 3 In most cases of mob violence the public officials stood idly by, refused to give protection and often participated in or led the mobs. Hanging a Witness was a non-event in Texas during those years, DCF, so don't expect to find it in some paper's archives. And for my part, the crime was interesting but not unusual to hear about so I can't give you time and place, so you can decide if I made it up. I was teargassed with 1,000 others at an assembly in Prescott AZ in 1947, have been haled in by the police, had my teacher in Superior AZ tell the class to beat me up after school. That's small change compared to the crimes against thousands of my brothers and sisters. I'll write about the 1933 German letter next. Our record under Nazis is amply displayed at the Holocaust Museum, and I've a package about us from them on my desk.
