A solid company can produce a solid stock. Like you, I'm in it for the money. But, since I do not short stocks, I look for the positive stuff. CNXT also came up on my radar when checking into all the last mile communication stuff.
Hope we are right!

Cosmo Daisey, I like your point about many just holding onto it because they got the spinoff from Rockwell. It's that same kind of thing that gave Lucent it's power after the ATT spinoff, and that's just one example of what happens when it gets popular and longholders sit on it. Rockwell's been around for long enough to have many conservative investors holding certificates...and now in CNXT too. And that's real good for the stock! I'm one of the Rockwell spinoff folks, but I just bought ROK in late '98 when the spinoff coming announce got my attention. CNXT has tripled for me in 6 months from the issue, and the ROK is now a tiny bit higher than where it was when I bought it. So it'd be an understatement to say I'm Mighty Happy With the Performance of Conexant, and with Both These Stocks; and especially pleased with how CNXT especially but ROK too have held up under this recent market and sector pressure! Not too shabby for 6 months....the parent Co. regained its value after it's spinoff that tripled!
I wouldn't be surprised if we see CNXT give a split before this year is over, either.
