The solution is hybrid. There is fiber from the headend out to the node. From the node to drop its coax.


Times like these I wish I could go back and edit an old post. I misstated.

I can and I did and there is.

How much total upstream bandwidth is there (bits/sec) available to one node? How much in the lower band vs. upper?
What % of the frequency is assigned to other functions?

Can anyone explain the status of the upgrade to the HFC two-way capabilities. What percentage of TCI's customer base now has the upgraded system in place and what is the rate of upgrade as a percentage per month/quarter. When will it be feasible for a person who can install an internal dial up modem to be able to install all of the items necessary to obtain athm service without a truck roll. Also, is the net over TV (Wgat type service) going to be available soon from athm and what type of revenues can athm expect from that service.
