yes....a union between Novell and Oracle would be nice, it would create this:

A company that can offer the products needed to create a complete e-commerce platform from directory services to data warehousing. Novell is the best company for connecting resources while Oracle makes the best software for storing information.

A perfect union? maybe....

but what do you do with Larry Ellison?? You can't have a 2-headed beast right? I mean Dr. Schmidt is one reason that makes Novell so ATTRACTIVE as a take over. Having to choose between the 2 would make this deal somewhat of a stretch.

Here's some thoughts:

Novell's perfect partner would be a telecom player (Lucent, Nortel, Cisco). This is were their software would really SHINE. IMHO, Lucent+Novell would be a combination that would turn the world inside out. Their combined knowledge of networking would be unmatched. Infusing NDS into Lucent's products (as they are doing NOW) would be a tremendous coup for Novell. Watch this....

There are many combinations :)
