An interesting idea ... dynamic system resources.

I could live with a small file, such as a font, being downloaded to allow me to see an e-mail, but, where I hesitate is a when a larger file is needed. Under this circumstance, I'd first question wether the additional functionality I'm about to download could be justified, once the cost in time and connection charges are considered.

How often have we clicked on a link and received a page saying your .... is obsolete and you can get a new version by clicking [here], only to discover the new version is 5meg and will take until lunchtime to download? No-thanks!

Not everyone is on-line continually. Many people still dial-up and pay ISP charges by the minute. I wouldn't want to see one group gain at the expense of the other. As we work with Office 2000, we'll discover its strengths and weaknesses. With enough provision for individual customization, the package could come close to meeting everyone's needs, and become another Microsoft success story.

Thanks, Fred.
