Greenspan's Speech was very short and with no news or proclamations to effect any market positions. Paraphrase: He defined the changes to American and global economies due to the rapid use of technology, its innovations and its beneficial methods of production and inventory controls. Admonished the class to live and create lives based on dignity, integrity, quality of character, idealistic principles and to include the less fortunate in process of carrying the nation forward. Your success in life should be the result of honest and productive lives that reached out to share your prosperity with others and not to leave a trail of broken promises. Free people and a free civilization are based on trust. What sustains that free system is the integrity of the people behind their economic dealings. Be prosperous.... "But transcending all else....is being principled in how you go about doing those things that bring you prosperity." It can be done without exploitation of others. The true measure of a career is to remain content and even proud that you succeeded in your own endeavors without leaving a trail of casualties. Personal and Professional relations should not be zero sum games. Then a long and interesting view continuing this theme of trust and integrity as the basis of our society and economic dealings and the basis of all significant human achievements.
