Word on the street is that LU inquired after Juniper about 6 months ago, and was told that Juniper expected a $4 billion valuation from its IPO. $10 billion is a silly number that you have pulled out of the air.

LU is taking a wait and see approach - it's early in the next-gen router game, LU will have two different router development teams after the merger. Already, the teams have put in about 4 months of work to refocus those efforts - one toward the edge router market, one to the core. They would love to have the Juniper software, but may decide its not worth the more than $4 billion they might have to pay for it.

you have to be kidding... right?

OK Mr. Pretend-to-know-it-all-cuz-Im-a-CSCO-employee, what the heck is wrong with this? I could point out a couple articles in Network World that would back this up but I want you to degrade your reputation further by contradicting me. I know the CSCO strategy is to throw away your "Old World" PBX and turn on your new CSCO voice router the very next day. But the "Real World" PBX vendors know their customers want a controlled migration to IP, not an overnite cutover CSCO disaster.

Your turn Mr. Big Shot!

(P.S. If you think somebody is going to buy Juniper for 10 Bil., I got some real estate you might be interested in.)
