[Marriage] is fragile and delicate. A tender and very sad joke.

Maybe yours. Not mine. Mine is robust and energetic. A strong and very happy truth.

It has been said that a country gets the leaders it deserves.

Similarly, most people get the marriages they deserve.

If one expects marriage to be an automatic cure for loneliness, a guarantee of happiness with no effort required, a miracle drug for a sad and lonely life, then for them marriage most probably will be a sad failure.

If one expect marriage to be a shared voyage of exploration and discovery, with all the attendant excitements, dangers, and hard work, the storms to be overcome, the risks to be faced and conquered together, one will come to the end of the voyage deeply enriched, with a great joy in both the voyage and the arrival.

nihil, your friends have two of the best reasons in the world not to be married..

No sex and no friendship...in other words they have zilch, zip, zero, nada..nothing..

Why would anyone stay in such a marriage, regardless, of the reasons.
