Excellent points! And yet today the 313 mm2 21264
(.35 micron aka EV6 process 21264) can be found in < $7500
workstations. The EV67 shows up in a few weeks (in ad supplement
today). It is a 210 mm2 part.. big stuff but quite a bit more
affordable.. cheaper boxes headed our way. More importantly,
the .18 micron EV68 is 150 mm2. Not so big. Can you say
Pentium II? I know you can!

EV68 is sampling today. Volume and boxes no later than
Q1 2000. 60+ SpecInt95, 90+ SpecFp95 and 1000 MHz.

How big is that Merced again? How fast?
Do you still think it will tape by month end? And finally,
when K7 hits .18 year-end, won't it be about 140 mm2?
