The way I have heard it best described is trying to be the grandest version of the greatest vision that
you have ever held of yourself.

But never getting there? People have to be careful. Reaching your goals could breed self-righteousness. For me, there is no mountainpeak. Just as long as I stay away from self-righteousness, I should be fine.

Self-righteousness is the antithesis of the futility of striving for knowledge, in my opinion. Once you become self-righteous, you stop learning.

When people "accept God into their lives," they do so with the knowledge that their human minds can't fully comprehend what God is (written in scripture). What surprises me is that there are different religions spun off of the same book. If the Scripture was the ultimate truth, as people have alluded to in this channel, then why are there different religions spun from the same book? I assume it is because humans are fallible creatures. They all perceive differently and interpret differently, depending on where they come from. And the Scripture communicates to them like a piece of art would; many possible meanings to objective phrasing.

People say the Bible is not to be taken literally. It has to be taken literally if it's supposed to be a moral guidebook, doesn't it? What is to stop someone from empowering themselves to self-righteousness in the name of God? All he/she has to do to become dangerous is make people believe in his point of view.

Feel free to dispute.
