vinh, I looked at your comparisons. There can be no doubt that IDTC has grown its revenues substantially. However, Zack's shows the July 98 figures for earnings as +.20 and not the (.51) you posted. In any case, it is generally better to compare same Q results rather than different Qs.

Further, one could argue that the stock was overvalued at the time of the first comparison, so even if the fundamental numbers are better now, the stock may still not be undervalued.

Personally, I don't think the market is interested in such comparisons. The market is interested in IDTC primarily for its earnings, bandwith prospects, internet prospects and future visions. IDTC is a very difficult stock to value and obviously cannot be valued on earnings. Unfortunately they have missed estimates the last two earnings reports. The telecom business is very competitive and the market fears that IDTC's margins may continue to be squeezed over time.

Regarding their internet prospects, I feel they made a mistake in not giving shareholders at least a few million shares, which they could have done while retaining 50% ownership. They have also fallen behind with their ISP altho they are now taking steps to remedy that. Most of all, they have failed to articulate an overall vision that the market could sink its teeth into.

I do think the stock will move higher from here once the market and internet correction end and with the NTOP IPO coming. But IMO, IDT badly needs to manage earning expectations better and articulate a vision that Wall Street and shareholders can better understand.

your post is absolutely right about idtc being a much better company one year later. and this is where expectations can make a company. if idtc hits it earnings, they are easily at a new all-time high. reading into hawaii's posts, i think mgmt will do well on the road show, and explain this past q's miss, and explain why things will fine going forward and idtc does not deserve the deep discount.

i am very comfortable in my belief that IDTC will not fall below $20 regardless of how the interest rate is decided.

i feel bad informing you that idtc closed below 20 on friday:-(
