Yo_Matrix.............EBN has a reporter that writes a regular column each week "By Jack Robertson". He has written numerous articles in the past year or so regarding RAMBUS and all have ALWAYS HAD A NEGATIVE SLANT against Rambus.

Matrix said: I believe EBN is a rather respected source, unlike EN. Am I correct about this?

Salude to all the "BUSSERS" - Norman!

Long Rambus for a VERY long time!

>>What is your take on this news? And will we see a break in the support for RMBS?<<

matrix,
there are a few items that stand out to me in all of this news.

1)intel and camino are on time!!! yeehaw!!!
we discussed the 600-800 marketing ploy or advantage 6 weeks ago. i suggested then that 600 initially followed by the "upgrade" would be good for everyone.

2)dell wants 2/3 of all current drdram production. that means cpq, et al, need micron now. that means pressure on all rdram mfrs to produce this year. dell is the marketing genius. i am thrilled to see dell take the leading role in marketing rambus.

3)schlumberger has taken huge steps very quickly to assist the industry. my thought is they are not just helping dram mfrs. in fact, they may be doing very little of that. i think schlumberger's biggest role may be assisting consumer products mfr's design products using rambus. why else would they be opening huge offices around the world?

4)most of the money needed for the conversion to rambus has already been spent. that means rambus production is rolling.

5)intel can make no disparaging remarks about 133. they cannot say...we are gonna kick your butt and put you out of business!...without creating huge unneccesary problems for themselves. what intel can do is...kick your butt and put you out of business "quietly". i try to keep two things in mind..intel has about 85% of the business, via about 1+%. intel is designing and creating the future(intel knows what they need); via is trying to guess which way to turn to keep from getting run over.

6)i was hugely impressed by last week's announcement that ibm is producing rambus drdrams for the market. we have seen a bunch of fud from reporters. keep this in mind. ibm and intel have awesome research and testing capabilities. the finest in the world. the testing facilities of the register, tom's hardware, and all the rest, put together would not make a decent men's room in the ibm and intel facilities.

i am beginning to see rambus like y2k. it is coming. you cannot stop it. the closer it gets, the more pressure you feel. everybody knows about it. some organizations are completely ready. some are scrambling, hoping they can get ready on time. some have their head in the sand hoping it doesn't happen. some are just ignoring it, resigning themselves to extinction.

the muscle, the big, beefy industry muscle, is "all" lined up on our side. the strategy of applying overwhelming force on your enemies weakest point wins every fight.

rambus + intel + samsung + micron + nec + matsushita + ibm + toshiba + sony +++++ vs via
step up to the counter sir and place your bet!
