To emerge from the philosophical and return to the practical, I ask a question I've asked here before, without any consensus emerging. I think most of us agree on the concept of religious freedom, this being the idea that individuals and groups have the right to hold and practice their beliefs in peace, without interference from the state or from other individuals. The central problem of religious freedom lies in dealing with religious groups that require their members to violate the religious freedoms of others. Fundamentalist Islam and Christianity fall into this category: both insist that they are the only valid religions, and demand that their adherents actively pursue the conversion of non-believers. So we have a hierarchy of rights. Some Christians believes that since their religion requires them to convert others, aggressive evangelism is a fundamental part of their right to practice their religion. Others resent the constant effort to convert them, and believe that aggressive evangelism is a violation of their right to hold and practice their beliefs in peace. Whose rights come first? I know you know what I think, but I wonder what some of the others, particularly the newer arrivals, think.

E, If you turn me in for every error in spelling or grammar made, you have a full time job ahead of you. tried or tryed? It was too late to worry about it. So, folks who spell not to pretty good are not welcome here? And yes everyone I agree the potty training deal was rude. Sorry. X, I was just making a comment on the fact that I don't know how many posts you guys spent talking "philosophy" about denying the existence of God and it is quite simple. The heavens declare His glory. Either you believe that or you don't. I should have just posted that and left well enough alone, because I am not a philosopher. E, (Now about this turned in thing?
