jhild. Did you read ALL of the information provided? No. Here is some more:

How To Interpret Historical Backtested Results

Single Indicator or combined searches are historically tested at the first of each month for the last twelve months. Each search is run on the first of each month and the top 25 stocks are retrieved. The percent gain or loss for each stock is calculated from the day of the search to the date of our most current search. The average gain or loss is calculated for all 25 stocks. The graphs show how the top 25 stocks on average if you had bought all 25 stocks on the date of each search.

Be careful of searches that do well in one time period but fail in others. These searches do not perform well over time and probability favors that they will not work today. The whole point of these analyses is to find searches that work over time with the hope they will continue to work into the future.

The bottom graph shows the results of the search with different market capitalization. Different size companies perform differently in different markets. This is because the people buying stocks are different with different size companies. Large mutual funds invest so much cash that they must invest in large capitalization companies. These fund managers have there own way of investing which is different for the average individual investor that might buy small fast growing companies. So what is working for one category of company size may not work for another. You can see in the lower graph if this is the case. The results of each search are shown for Large ($3 billion and up), Medium ($1 billion to $3 billion), Small ($300 million to $ 1 billion), and Micro (less than $300 million) market cap stocks. Find what works and use it because all of our best & worst lists and searches can be restricted by market capitalization.

Remember all these results and testing are performed mathematically with the hope that we can improve investor returns by find what has been working recently. However there is no guarantee that past results will extend into the future.
