Uh - that was the other guy ... :-) I'm the guy who is counseling the adoption of a "good enough for us" consensual standard of objectivity.

As for an engaged God - here's the nut. Is there any pattern to this engagement? Something, anything, that is amenable to a reality test? If not - how can we be reasonably assured that what you experienced is God and not a property of meat?

"As to your next to the last sentence, I don't know how many "Christians" would
recognize my faith, but certainly I believe in a personally engaged deity. After all, I have
engaged with him/her/it/them. ?

Which was it? When was it? Will you make your affidavit on your engagement with god? (shouldn't difficult, why try an affirmation instead of an oath, given the substance I want to read.) Will you risk your immortal soul (presuming you have an immortal soul) on the truth of your engagement? I'm quite serious. I'm fed up with the bunk of unsworn religiosity. Not that I personally distrust your truthfully, but I doubt the rationality of everyone who makes what to me are absurd claims. I want them to make as much proof as they can. I polygraph test would be nice. Evidence, man. Evidence! Next time you meet with god ask him or her or it or them for a blood sample. Jesus is loaded with blood, we're told. Then I trust you to have a DNA done, and blood typing. When you produce the blood of Christ and it checks out (not like St. Januarius), then I might lay off scoffing for a while. But until then, I have my doubts.
Of course, you can publish your sworn affidavit right here on this thread. Until you do, I think you are rightly accusable as a hypocrite.
Not that I would accuse you. Please, please, for the love of God, post your affidavit of faith!
