OLYMPUS Germany Selects Concurrent's MediaHawk to Provide Video-On-Demand for Endoscopic Systems
Yet Another New Application Use for Concurrent's Video Server
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1999-- Concurrent Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:CCUR - news) today announced that OLYMPUS Optical Company Europa (German Branch) purchased two MediaHawk(TM) Video Servers for use in its flexible medical endoscopy systems. Specifically, Concurrent's MediaHawk will be used to display, and save for future review the video output of endoscopy systems. The videos will be made available on a local area network (LAN) for study by specialists and students.
OLYMPUS Optical, based in Hamburg, Germany has been responsible for introducing a variety of new developments in all areas of flexible medical endoscopy, including its industry-leading EVIS-System for diagnosis and treatment of gastric diseases. Furthermore, these video streams are delivered with no degradation to performance or video quality regardless of the number of digital video streams concurrently supported.
